I do not support the banning of books. I do not believe that books should be restricted, if it was made, it was made to be read. Censoring books and ensuring they cannot be read, just so that people cannot learn about ideas and things that one person doesnt agree with is wrong.
The book I chose is This Day in June because it was banned for promoting LBGTQ rights and content. Some schools and parents challenged the book because they dont support the LBGTQ community and want to sheild their children form seeing it. Many articles and schools declared these books inappropriate for children and banned them form school libraries. Libraries have a responsibility to provide and show these materials to the community and to children, so that they can learn about it and understand it and form their own opinions, not just copy and reflect their parents opinions.
